Hey! I'm Akshay Sharma — a software engineer happiest on hard problems: fast, correct systems and the occasional 2 a.m. algorithm. Competitive programmer at heart, generalist by choice.
Today I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Bloom Social, building real-time backends, cross-chain wallet infrastructure, and low-latency UX. Before that I was a founding engineer at Astrotech Labs.
Outside the day job I ship: Orbital Pay, a payments product backed by a $150K Aptos grant, and GraphPilot, an open-source structural memory tool for coding agents. Equal parts hard and useful is the sweet spot.

- Leading development of a cross-chain decentralized social finance platform — social trading, portfolio tracking, and DeFi interactions across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
- Architected real-time backend services with event-driven systems, WebSockets, and scalable APIs powering feeds, alerts, portfolio updates, and on-chain activity at scale.
- Built high-performance frontends in Svelte and TypeScript, focused on modular architecture, low-latency rendering, and real-time financial UX.
- Designed cross-chain transaction and wallet infrastructure integrating Zerion, Adamik, Turnkey, and multiple DeFi protocols for secure asset management and execution.
- Drove protocol and infrastructure decisions — indexing strategies, smart-contract integrations, state synchronization, caching layers, and transaction-reliability systems.
- Designed and implemented core DeFi algorithms for swaps and liquidity pools.
- Built Web3 infrastructure tooling with React, Next.js, and TypeScript for scalable dApp development.
- Developed data-ingestion pipelines using message queues for real-time system triggers.
- Built staking dashboards and NFT marketplace interfaces with a focus on UX and performance.
- Selected in the first C4GT cohort to build digital public goods and scalable GovTech systems.
- Built YAUS — a trackable URL shortener with analytics, bulk link creation, and centralized access control.
- Worked across React, Node.js, FusionAuth, and Swagger, leveraging open-source DPG libraries.
